It is important to know the head speed of a helicopter in the hover and fast forward flight to be able to maximize the set-up of the engine and blade pitch. Until now, this had always been a costly or dangerous exercise trying to hover the helicopter over an optical tacho on the ground. With the Synchro Meter, your helper simply views the flying helicopter through a window on the meter and adjusts the dial until the blades appear stationary. - Instructions:
- Match up the positive to positive and negative to negative terminals. In the event that positive and negative wires are mixed up, the Lightning Power Onboard Battery Monitor will not light up. No damage to the unit or battery will occur. just reverse the connection.
- Each cell is at or above 3.3 volts when the corresponding light is green ( ex. 3S Lithium Polymer pack @ 10 volts equals three solid green lights on the monitor)
- Whenever any cell drops below 3.3 volts, a red light will turn on. Tthe battery monitor will work only if the battery is under load ( ex. hovering the helicopter).

The Lightning Power Battery Cell Gauge is designed to measure the volts of each cell of your lithium pack. It is simple to use. Plug in a 2-3 cell pack through the balancing connector and read the Liquid Crystal Display (LED). The decimal point represents what volt each cell is reading (refer to the label on the gauge). The connector has 2.5 mm pin spacing. If you have balancing connectors that have 2mm pin spacing, use the separately available adapter. To test packs with 4-12 cell, simply move the gauge over to the next row of pins (see fig. 1). If you plug in the gauge and the LED does not light up, just reverse the connection. You can not damage the gauge by reversing the polarity. Remember to remove the gauge from the battery after use to prevent slow discharge of the battery. |
